Have you all tryed a paticular kind of eye gazin'? i call it "mirroring" or "getting mirrored"
if you try this... or have.. i would be interested to hear your experiences....
look very deep into an eye, and find your own reflection in there and go deeper into the eye reflection...
it seems to work better holding gaze in a single eye rather than switching back and forth -right to left...
also at times near dawn and dusk with sun light coming into the eye horizonally..
with light coming in just in the corner of the eye-just in the edge of feild of vision...
works best facing dircetly north or due south /so sun is either in your right or left eye -
(depending on whether it is dawn or dusk and which way you face)...
look into the eye deeper..through the reflection of you own eye...
it may take some practice to hold it like a meditation and definatly requires trust and allowing....
try it alone (with a mirror-looking into your own eyes) and/or with a partner and experience how they vary...
i "look" forward to hearing your experinces....

Re: "Mirroring"
Mon, January 30, 2006 - 11:29 AMJust one comment.
When you look this deeply into someone's eyes - even though you are seeking your own reflection - you are putting a lot of energy into the other person's body and soul. Be prepared for a strong reaction from this person or in yourself - it can be very subtle yet very overwhelming if you are not used to it.
I would strongly suggest you first try this in a mirror. I actually do that exact exercise in my Eye Gazing workshop. Look at more than just your own reflection though. Look at your face, your expressions, the lines around your eyes. Notice what others notice about you but you don't generally see. Then look deep in your own eyes. See your reflection, then see if you can see your own soul.
Good luck - I look forward to hearing what people say. -

Re: "Mirroring"
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 1:52 PMi've been doing that for awhile now, my reflection is the symbol of the innermost part of myself that is one with the person i'm gazing at. sometimes i use the pupil itself as that symbol. -

Re: "Mirroring"
Wed, April 12, 2006 - 11:48 PMOK. I have to first introduce myself. I am new to this tribe. I am SO AMAZED to find this tribe. The timing is uncanny. Something happened to me when I was 17 (a long time ago). And I hand't spoken to anyone about it until very recently where the subject came up 3 times in the last week.
Here's what happened...I looked in the mirror with the intention of seeing how far I can see into my pupil. I opened my eyes wide and stared in for what seemed like a long time. After a while, I no longer had the urge to blink and it was like something was keeping me there at the mirror. The next thing I know, it felt like I was inside the mirror looking back ouit at my physical body. For a brief second I knew everything. I just had this feeling of infinite understanding and love for that short moment. But looking out at my body I felt a little scared or maybe even a little repulsed. I distinctly remember thinking "that's just a container. it's hollow and i can go anywhere i want but for now i have to occupy this." i also remember feeling a little scared and then snapping back into my body.
At the time I wasn't sure what happened. But I knew it was my soul. I just felt it was. This really scared me and I haven't looked deeply into another mirror like that again. But I am considering trying it again now that I have a better understanding of what an amazing experience that was.
Is this what you mean by mirroring?
Thanks.

Re: "Mirroring"
Tue, April 18, 2006 - 2:59 PMAlanna,
Actually - no that's not what we are talking about.
What you did is what I would call self reflection. Mirroring is about reflecting another person deeply. Sometimes when we look deeply into another person's eyes we see ourselves reflected back. Often what we see in others is what we also see in ourselves.
Mirroring could have a couple of definitions but I personally see it as reflecting another persons inner side. As I noted this is often very similar to what we see in ourselves.
What you did is a fascinating exercise as well though.

Re: "Mirroring"
Tue, November 14, 2006 - 10:03 AMIt gave me a different perspective of my SELF. It was a sudden realization that my body was not my self but instead my body was seperate from my spirit or soul or higher self (or whatever term you want to use). It was intense for it happening so young to me. Had it happened now, I would have opened up to it more, but instead I got really scared and vowed to never do that again. I didn't understand it. But I understand it now and have tried it again just recently with no result. I'll keep practicing as I'm sure as I let go of blockages it will come back to me.
I have also spoken to someone else (a clairvoyant) about this recently. She does these types of practices often. She did say it was an actual tool to get in touch with the real Self, the higher self. And I believed she did call it mirroring.

self reflecting
Sun, November 12, 2006 - 2:30 PMWOW!
I did something very similar myself recently. I was staring at my reflection in the mirror and it changed (without changing) right in front of me. What exactly it was is a little too intimate to share, but it was very serious! I'm happy to find this tribe! and to see that others are having the same experiences. -

Re: self reflecting
Tue, November 14, 2006 - 10:04 AMI know. It's a little weird when your reflection doesn't do what your physical body is doing. I'm SO glad that I'm not alone in this experience. Have you tried it again intentionally since that experience?
