eye gazing - what exactly is it?

Hi, I am new to this group and also to eye gazing. My friend and I had heard of it and tried it last night - it was incredible - it felt like I was in touch with the source- her soul or something not of this world - could someone explain what my experience was? what exactly is happening when two or more gather in eye gazing? thanks!

Odd Incident

I'm not particularly familiar with eye gazing / soul gazing but my friend told me a bit about it and it sounded interested. So I told a girl a bit about. She wanted to try.

So We are sitting on a bed with some other people around us watching. I have my hands facing up and hers are in mine. I tell her to look at my left while I look at her left. I notice her pupils becoming VERY dilated and so are mine. We do this for about 10-15 seconds. And she stops and is freaked out. Something happened, I felt a bit weird too, like I was slipping.

I then had a panic attack with a lot of nervousness / anxiety.

Do you know anything about this?

For New Yorkers who famously avoid eye contact, it seemed like a radical notion to get a group of strangers to look into each other's eyes without speaking, back when the first "eye-gazing parties" were held there in 2005. But when a bunch of Burners, yogis and tantric sex practitioners attended San Francisco's first-ever eye-gazing event last week, it was embraced as a perfectly insightful evolution of the dating scene.

Eye gazing resembles speed dating, where participants hold brief conversations with dozens of potential mates. Except at these parties, the would-be daters aren't allowed to speak. Single men and women sit across from each other and for two minutes gaze - not stare - into each other's eyes.

how has eye gazing affected your relationships?

In recent months I've taken eye gazing to a whole new level for me.

When I meet people, especially when I'm attracted to them, I'll look them directly and strongly in they eyes as soon as possible. I will continue to look at them until they break the connection or something else happens to end the moment.

I have found that this suddenly brings attraction and interest to a different level. It helps instill a sense of confidence for me and convey an interest to the other person. I often find that women will continue to return the look for a rarther long time with me - even women I'm just passing or seeing across a room.

Recently I spent time with a woman I totally adore. The connection we found in eye gazing was probably the most intense experience I've ever felt. We did it so much in the week that we were together - from whereever we happened to catch each other looking - that it was noticed by and impacted others.

For the two of us it has affected our relationship immensely. When I'm stressed or tired or feeling a little bored I close my eyes and imaging her eyes looking at me. Sometimes I pick a particular moment that I remember other times I think about the feelings and emotions that stir within me when I look in her eyes.

From that connection I take a way a vision of her soul that I can carry with me. It is truely a beautiful experience and has left us both a little bit changed and an incredible amount closer!

"Mirroring"

Have you all tryed a paticular kind of eye gazin'? i call it "mirroring" or "getting mirrored"
if you try this... or have.. i would be interested to hear your experiences....
look very deep into an eye, and find your own reflection in there and go deeper into the eye reflection...
it seems to work better holding gaze in a single eye rather than switching back and forth -right to left...
also at times near dawn and dusk with sun light coming into the eye horizonally..

with light coming in just in the corner of the eye-just in the edge of feild of vision...
works best facing dircetly north or due south /so sun is either in your right or left eye -
(depending on whether it is dawn or dusk and which way you face)...
look into the eye deeper..through the reflection of you own eye...

it may take some practice to hold it like a meditation and definatly requires trust and allowing....

try it alone (with a mirror-looking into your own eyes) and/or with a partner and experience how they vary...

In casual interactions eye contact is a balancing act – too much and someone might think you are staring, too little and others might think you’re avoiding them or lying. Yet this connection and sharing can also be very rewarding because only through eye contact can we experience the full truth of any other person.

This True Living workshop begins with a discussion on intimacy and its relationship to eye gazing. With further discussion we’ll explore the concepts of why eye contact can be so intense, emotional, and intimate and seek to overcome the fear.

The activities will start with the process of self-exploration and connection to build comfort and understanding and then move into eye gazing with others with the intention of finding deeper and more powerful connection. The workshop will conclude with an open discussion about our experiences and ways to take the learning back into our everyday lives.

Please bring a handheld mirror with you for some of the exercises.

How to Focus on a Dust Particle on Your Eyeball, and What it Means

Once the physics of a mechanical machine is understood, then its capabilities can be optimized, forcing an evolution in its design and use. The human body is in reality just a machine occupied by an operator. Just like any other man made machine, the capabilities of the body, barring any deformities, is in large part dependent on the abilities of the user. Intensive use of specific functions of the body allows us to optimize our ability to interact with our surroundings, enhancing our experience during this existence, and in turn flooding our mind with information that has the tendency to expose hidden truths.

In general, sight is considered to be one of our most important and useful abilities, and nature seems to agree, designing the cheeks to be the most sensitive part of the body, intended to warn us of possible dangers. Our eyes have the capability of sending us an almost infinite amount of information in a fraction of a second. From patterns and colors to reflections and refractions, the eyes do not discriminate, recording everything in their sight, leaving the task of filtration of what is relevant for the moment to the mind.

Before we continue, it should be understood that the way we perceive our surrounding world is a reflection of what the mind choices to discern, depending on our experiences and prejudices, and is not a true representation of the capabilities of the eyes. The eyes are a very complex machine that are capable of focusing on objects far and near, registering light and boundaries, allowing us to interact with the world in three dimensions. There are numerous resources available through the net detailing the inner workings of the eyes, hence this information will not be covered in this exercise. What will be covered, is how to prefect the ability of focusing on a dust particle on your eyeball.

Purpose:

* To prove that we are actually inside of our body looking out

Requirements:

* Good eyesight
* Patients
* Spare time

Description of Experiment:

* In this experiment you will lay on your back, find dust particles on your eyes, and focus on them

Basic Facts:

* Dust is a very small piece of matter, light enough to float in the air with the slightest breeze
* The eyes are convex
* A film of liquid, called tears, surround the eyes and act as a cleaning solution, capturing particles from the air
* The force of gravity acts on every object

Set up:

* Sufficient daylight
* It is VERY IMPORTANT to have a uniform color and pattern as the backdrop. Example: blue sky, a gray cloudy sky, or a cream colored ceiling. You can also provide an orange to red medium by closing your eyes during a sunny day. (Warning: never look directly into the sun)
* Flat surface to lay on

Procedure and Effect:

* Lie down horizontally on your back. This will increase the dust particle density in the eyes by maximizing the surface area where the particles can settle.
* To find dust particles, slowly move your eyes while looking for dark spots. The spots will range in color from gray to black. Initially these spots will be blurry and appear spherical. What needs to be done is to get a spot to become centered on the pupil at the apex of the eyeball. The way to do this is to move the eyes in the opposite direction to the effective force of gravity acting on the particle. Since the eyes are convex it means that particles in the tears will slowly be dragged down gradient. If a dust particle is located in the lower part of the eye, then the eyes should be moved straight up. This will move the particle closer to the apex of the eye, where it can be centered on the pupil when the eye is quickly moved back down again. Initially you will have to try this a few times, creating a rhythm, where with every movement of the eye the dust particle moves a little closer to the apex. This rhythmic movement of the eyes is similar to the rocking motion required to free the wheels of a car stuck in a ditch. This is the most difficult part of the procedure.
* Once you get the spot to the apex on the eye and stare at it, then with time the particle should slowly come into focus. You will notice that the spots you found are not spherical, but stringy in form. They have the same structure as normal everyday dust balls that appear in your home, they just happen to be on a smaller scale and in a liquid medium. The areas that appear as dark spots are actually areas where multiple strings of dust have tangled together. Once the dust ball comes into focus you will be able to see the individual particles extending out from the clusters. The better you get at this the more dust particles and dust balls you will find. With time, you will no longer need to find dust balls to focus on because you will be able to focus on the individual strings without the need of a larger object as the starting point for the focusing process.
* Once you capture a particle in your sight you will be able to control its movement. You will notice that the center of the dust balls tend to move a lot faster when you move your eyes then the stringy bits sticking out of the tangled areas. This is probably because the liquid on the eyes acts as a resistive force on the "tails". Slowly the imagination should take over and particles should begin to look like scenes and recognizable objects, the same way that clouds are reminiscent of scenes and objects.
* Keep in mind that the particle you are focusing on is only present on one of your eyes.

Results and What it Means:

* This exercise will reveal some of the contents of the air we are breathing
* An epiphany should occur that makes one realize that our eyes are just that, eyes. "Windows to the world" as the saying goes. Just a part of a machine that we control for obtaining visual information about our surroundings
* What this exercise means is personal and can be whatever you want it to be. For me what it means is directly related to how it makes me feel, and it makes me feel as if I’m the driver of a car looking out the windshield, and at times, as if I’m in a house looking out the window

Conclusion:

* The realization that we are not our body. We are just occupying a machine that we use to interact with our surroundings
* Gives a sense of detachment from the physical while raising the question of who we are inside

Special Notes:

* Do not get frustrated at first if you have a hard time finding particles and getting them into focus. It will happen with practice and once it does, a whole universe will become visible right in front of your eyes.

Honest space and time

Does anyone have suggestions on how to communicate with another person on a higher plane without the use of drugs? My finacee and I have found each other doing such as we wake up in the morning a couple of times. We also had a completely mind-blowing experience on 'shrooms recently. I'd like to continue to exercise this sort of thing w/o substances... Staring into each other's eyes takes us to other places at times, also.

Since I'm at such a loss for words on this, I'm simply going to inquire of you guys about something that happened last weekend.

Do you think it's possible to see a vision of a person's higher self through their eyes, especially (now don't laugh) during astral sex?

BTW, I really don't like to use the word sex for that, but again, I'm at a loss for words here...

Old soul in a child's eyes

Have any of you seen this, too? It's so incredible that it gives me goosebumps.

A couple of years ago I saw one that scared me, though. It made me realize that we all have our light and dark, no matter our current age or our soul age.

Only we as individuals can decide which "light" we want to live in.

I personally choose balance.
